Quality control of pelletizing process

1. Requirements for equipment before granulation

Inspection and maintenance of equipment is required before production to ensure product quality. It includes the following aspects:

a. Pelletizing and its top magnet should be cleaned every shift. If it can not be cleaned, the iron in the feed may enter the ring mold of the pelletizer, affecting the normal operation of the pelletizer.

b. Monitor the wear of ring dies and rollers: the wear of rollers may affect production capacity; excessive wear of dies reduces the effective thickness of dies, which will affect the quality of particles.

c. Regular lubricating oil is added to the pressure roller to ensure the normal operation of the roller.

d. Check whether there is material backlog in the cooler and check whether the cooling plate or screen surface is damaged.

e. Crusher rollers should be inspected regularly: such as roller corrugated tooth wear blunt, will reduce the crushing capacity, reduce product quality.

f. Check the screen surface of the classification screen whether there are holes, plugging and bonding phenomenon, screen surface integrity without damage, in order to achieve the correct effect of particle classification.

g. Check the pelleting cutter: the cutter wear is too dull, which will increase the feed powder.

h. Check the steam separator to ensure the quality of the steam entering the conditioner. Otherwise, the annual production capacity of light and the pellet quality of feed will be affected.

i. When changing materials, check whether the buffer and finished goods warehouse above the granulator are completely emptied to prevent mixing.

2. Pig and chicken feed generally have sweat corn, starch content is high, and crude fiber content is low. Therefore, the structure and strength of pellet feed depend entirely on the tempering technology, using heat and steam to soften the raw materials to improve the pelleting performance of feed. During the tempering process, the starch of feed will be partly gelatinized. The gelatinized starch plays an adhesive role and improves the pellet forming rate of feed.

Generally, the tempering time of the conditioner is 10-20 seconds. Extending the tempering time can be as follows: 1. Increasing starch gelatinization; 2. Increasing feed temperature to reduce harmful microorganisms; 3. Improving production efficiency, improving particle quality, and releasing heat and water more quickly when steam pressure is low. In order to improve the tempering effect, steam must be controlled. Pressure. General pellet feed production can be based on the actual operation needs, adjust feed moisture in 16-18%, temperature in 75-85 degrees.

3. Correct adjustment of roller clearance can prolong the service life of ring die and roller, improve production efficiency and particle quality. The adjustment requirements are as follows:

When the roller is transferred to the ring mold at low speed, the roller can only touch the high point of the ring mold. This clearance minimizes the metal contact between the die and the roller, reduces wear and tear, and there is enough pressure to rotate the roller.

4. The particle size requirement of raw materials should be determined according to the particle size of granular products. The granularity requirement is too fine, the processing speed is low, the productivity is low; the granularity is too coarse, the granularity molding rate drops, the granule is easy to be damaged. The feed size can be adjusted according to the different uses, such as chicken feed size can be larger; fish and shrimp feed size requirements are more fine.
